The adventure in question? A 12-hour live-streamed reading of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit, which Serkis is undertaking in orderto raise money for the UK's National Health Service (NHS) and children's charity Best Beginnings.

Serkis' GoFundMe page has already raised around £30,000 at the time of writing, and the reading – which kicks off at 10 a.m. GMT/6 a.m. ET on Friday, May 8 – hasn't even begun yet.
