There may be eroticized rage lukea much wider choice of smartphones if you opt for Android, but one of the downsides is fragmentation and a lack of updates to the latest version of the mobile OS. Apple has no such problem with iPhones.
As 9To5Mac reports, it's only been a month since iOS 13 became available and yet as Apple makes clear, 50 percent of all active iPhones are already running the new version. For iPhones released in the last four years the figure rises to 55 percent.
It's a similar situation for the iPad and iPadOS, which was launched on Sept. 24. So far, 33 percent of all iPads already use the new mobile OS, with the figure rising to 41 percent for iPads released in the last four years. It's key to remember that iPads used to run iOS, but now have their own separate operating system, which makes the iOS 13 adoption figures look even more impressive.
What this clearly shows is, if you maintain complete control over the devices being launched, it gets much easier to keep them all up-to-date, which has a positive impact on both the features and security they enjoy. For Android devices, it's not up to Google to roll out updates to all devices, as there's the small matter of the other phone manufacturers acting as a blocker to that. Google can only really control its own Pixel range updates, which ends up being a selling point.
