The eroticism defintionfirestorm of political outrage and intrigue following President Trump's firing of FBI director James Comey has led some to call for increased scrutiny and perhaps even official action regarding the move. But in Comey's own neighborhood, the response has been a lot more warm and fuzzy thanks to a local caring mom.

NPR reporter Mara Liasson revealed the story of Comey's cookies on Friday, describing a text from the mother of one of her son's friends.
"Abby just hand delivered a dozen cookies fresh from the oven ... hopefully made Director Comey's day a little bit better!"
This is the other side of D.C. drama, the rare softer side.
"FBI Director Comey lives in our neighborhood, and, as you would imagine -- there were a lot of reporters at the foot of his driveway today. Abby [the woman's nine-year-old daughter] thought that was quite inhospitable," wrote Liasson's friend.
"Well, either a nine-year-old in a parochial school uniform dress doesn't look very threatening, or the smell of the choc chip cookies was so good that the security detail could smell them from the other side of the gate ... in either case, Abby Grace just hand delivered a dozen cookies fresh from the oven. She walked up, shook the hand of the 6'10" agent, introduced herself, and, hopefully made Director Comey's day a little bit better!"
A photo of Abby and a note to Comey, sent along with the cookies, was posted on Twitter by journalist Michelle Bernard on Thursday.

Not only is this the best end of the week note on an otherwise stomach churning story, it's also the perfect reminder the mothers are the best. So remember, pay proper homage to your mom tomorrow on Mother's Day or karma will remember they'll be no cookies for you when you need them.
