Warner Bros. and The Sisters' Room (2015) Watch onlineauthor J.K. Rowling have announced plans to make five films in the Newt Scamander series, which kicks off this November with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
There had previously been three films scheduled for the franchise, which is of the utmost importance to the studio that made eight Harry Pottermovies out of seven books.

Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident... were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.

David Yates, who directed the last four Harry Pottermovies, returned to direct Fantastic Beasts, which also stars Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Samantha Morton, Jon Voight, Ron Perlman, Carmen Ejogo and Colin Farrell.
Fantastic Beastsis notable in that Rowling wrote the script herself in addition to producing the film. The author said she has already written the sequel, which will take Newt to a different city. It remains unclear whether Rowling will continue to write the other three sequels, or whether those duties will be farmed out to someone else such as producer Steve Kloves, who counts several Harry Potterfilms among his screenwriting credits.
Rowling's script was inspired by the Hogwarts textbook "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," written by her character Newt Scamander. The film opens Nov. 18. Watch the trailer below.
