Sheryl Sandberg has a new date on Delires obscenes (1998)her calendar: April 24.
On Tuesday, Facebook's chief operating officer shared on Facebook (where else?) that her new book Option B: Facing Adversity, Building Resilience and Finding Joyis going on sale next month.
SEE ALSO: Sheryl Sandberg's new book 'Option B' explores grief in wake of husband's deathThe book, first unveiled by Recode in July, shares Sandberg's personal journey of grief following the death of her husband David Goldberg, who passed away suddenly from a heart condition while they were on vacation in Mexico two years back.
Adam Grant, a professor of management at Wharton and best-selling author of Originals, is also a co-author on the project, incorporating his own research.
"Option Bis our attempt to share what we’ve learned. Part of the book comes from my personal experience and my journals, and part comes from the work Adam and other psychologists have done on resilience," Sandberg wrote on Facebook. "These stories reveal the capacity of the human spirit not only to persevere . . . but to rediscover joy."
Sandberg gained notoriety for her first book, Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead. The book did receive some criticism for not incorporating the stories of single parents. After losing her husband unexpectedly, she apologized.
"I will never experience and understand all of the challenges most single moms face, but I understand a lot more than I did a year ago," Sandberg wrote on Facebook on Mother's Day in 2016.
"Dave’s death changed me in very profound ways. I learned about the depths of sadness and the brutality of loss," Sandberg said in her commencement address to the class of 2016 at the University of California at Berkeley; the first time spoke publicly about the matter.
The new book is now available for preorder on Amazon.
Recodereported last summer that all proceeds from Sandberg's new book would go to Sandberg's nonprofit organization Lean In.
