Pace, who was a "super-fan" of the Chicago native, explains that her sexual relationship with the singer began at the age of 16. Pace explains she met Kelly outside of court during the child pornography trial in 2008 where he was found guilty of all 14 counts. She had fabricated her age in order to attend the trial.
Throughout their relationship, Pace claims sexual encounters were filmed without permission. When she eventually confronted the singer about her real age, he reportedly told her to "tell anyone who asked that she was 19, and act like she was 25," according to the report. She was also allegedly sexually and mentally abused if she did not follow Kelly's orders. Their relationship ended when Pace was caught texting a friend and subsequently abused by Kelly for the action.
“If I can speak out and I can help them get out of that situation, that’s what I will do. I didn’t have anybody to speak up on my behalf when I was going through what I was going through with him. He’s brainwashed them really bad, and it kind of reminds me of Charles Manson," Pace told BuzzFeed, later explaining that she is considering pressing criminal charges against the singer.
On behalf of Kelly, lawyer Linda Mensch has responded to previous allegations in a statement to Pitchfork. “Mr. Kelly unequivocally denies such accusations and will work diligently and forcibly to pursue his accusers and clear his name," she said.
