After Newton got knocked around in Week 1, many criticized the validity of the NFL's push for player safety and claimed he didn't receive adequate medical attention.
According to ESPN's David Newton, Newton passed three concussion tests after the Broncos game in Week 1, but the NFL and the NFL Players Association are still looking into whether or not the situation was handled properly.
Last week Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman slammed the NFL for valuing its own financial interests more than the safety of its players, citing Newton as an example. Arizona Cardinals' quarterback Carson Palmer also made an early exit from Sunday's game against the Rams, and is being evaluated for a concussion.
It looks like this time around, the necessary precautions are being taken.
