I Love You, Daddywas already raising eyebrows for its timing and subject matter; in the film, Chloe Grace Moretz plays C.K.'s daughter and begins dating a much older man – it bears more than a few similarities to Woody Allen's actual life.
The film itself felt like an invitation to speculate about C.K. himself, to wonder if rumors about his inappropriate behavior were true and what could possibly be done if they were.
On Thursday, the film's official red carpet premiere was canceled, as was C.K.'s scheduled appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
