After already issuing a warning to Team Huma for failing to pay players on Watch The Uncanny Counter (2020) Onlinetime during the 2016 League of LegendsSpring Split, Riot Games has officially banned the team from participating in any Riot-sanctioned events.

Multiple current and former players were not being paid according to their contracts
In its investigation, Riot found that multiple current and former players were not being paid according to their contracts. Payments were late from the Spring Split and players involved have yet to be paid.
According to a previous release, that minimum player compensation amount is "$12,500 (or €11,250) per starting player per split during the 2016 season."
Huma's current owner, Behdad Jaafarian, has been banned from holding any position in Riot events for one year.
The team has been given a grace period lasting through Oct. 1 to allow management to sell its spot in the Challenger Series.
"We approached Huma’s management regarding this issue and they are working together with potential new owners of the slot and the players to resolve this amicably," Riot said.
As for how long Team Huma will be banned from Riot events, Riot said that will depend on how Huma handles its current situation. There is no guarantee that the ban will be lifted at all.
"The potential re-entry of Huma and their management -- after the ban has expired -- will be partially contingent on them being able to fully resolve this issue in a swift manner, amongst other ownership criteria which will be assessed at the time of application," Riot said.
Team Impulse was banned for similar reasons in May, and was only given 10 days to sell its spot. Riot has not announced when or if the team's ban will be lifted.
