Quick! Think of a really famous musician. There's a pretty good chance the person you just thought of performed on Uncut ArchivesSaturday for the Global Citizen "One World: Together At Home" concert.
The event looked to entertain the millions of people stuck at home during the coronavirus pandemic, while also thanking healthcare workers on the front lines of the crisis. And there were a lotof stars who performed. An abridged list, in no particular order (takes a deep breath): Billie Eilish, Jennifer Lopez, The Rolling Stones, Stevie Wonder, Sam Smith, Eddie Vedder, Celine Dion, Shawn Mendes, Camilla Cabello, Lizzo, Billie Joe Armstrong, Paul McCartney, Taylor Swift, Elton John, Lady Gaga, Keith Urban, Kacey Musgraves, and John Legend.
It's pretty cool to see all these massive stars come together (metaphorically) and perform from their homes. Gaga herself put together the line-up and called the event "a love letter to the world."
The "love letter" was a collaboration between the antipoverty group Global Citizen and the World Health Organization (WHO), which has been at the center of the global fight against COVID-19. After the event completed, Global Citizen announced they'd received nearly $128 million in commitments to fight the coronavirus crisis.
If you want to watch the whole thing — which had countless cameos from famous folks like Jimmy Fallon, Oprah, and Stephen Colbert — you can find that here. Meanwhile, here is a quick round-up of just some of the stellar performances from the event.
