Carpool Karaokeis an innocuous institution of a pop star's press tour. "Hey,cult of carnality: sexuality, eroticism, and gender in contemporary satanism they seem fun," we say every damn time. But now the carefree affair is tainted with bad blood.
Katy Perry took a ride with James Corden during his primetime special, and after an endearing rendition of "Firework," he couldn't resist asking her about Taylor Swift.“I want to talk to you about some famous beef. Because there’s Taylor beef," asked Corden, in all his aw shuckswonder. "When are we going to clear that beef up?” Corden just wants all his best friends to be best friends, you see!

“Honestly, it’s really like, she started it, and it’s time for her to finish it," Perry said before confirming the origin story that has been canon in the "Bad Blood" universe for years.
"It’s about backing dancers, there were three backing dancers. I tried to talk to her about it and she wouldn’t speak to me," said Perry. “I do the right thing any time that it feels like a fumble. It was a full shutdown, and then she writes a song about me, and I’m like okay cool, cool, cool, that’s how you want to deal with it? Karma!"
From there, Perry served more of what she's been in interviews and her song that sure seems a response to "Bad Blood" with lyrics like, "Funny my name keeps comin' outcho mouth." She also calls Corden "daddy" for some reason.
"But what I want to say is that I’m ready for that B.S. to be done," says Perry, in the middle of rehashing it. "Now, there is the law of cause and effect. You do something, there’s going to be a reaction, and trust me, daddy, there’s going to be a reaction.”
Well, the effect of this this particular interview was a bunch of headlines about Taylor Swift.
