Soon to be a major motion picture, Kevin Kwan's extravagant novel about extravagantly wealthy Chinese families and ex-pats is a wild ride you won't be able to put down. Rachel Chu (soon-to-be-played by Constance Wu) flies to East Asia to meet her fiancee Nicholas Young's family (newcomer Henry Golding in the film version). She knows that they're rich and proud, but the visit – for Nick's old friend's wedding – will test and stretch the meaning of pride and affluence as Rachel knows it. You may not remember falling in love with Chris Pine in 2004, but we sure do. Pine plays the insufferable – and insufferably handsome – Nicholas Devereaux, who Mia falls for despite an impending betrothal to Andrew Jacoby (Callum Blue). It's a fun movie, but let's not forget the real story here...

The Princess Diaries Volume XI: Royal Wedding

The final book in Meg Cabot's delightful series about catches up with a 25-year-old Mia Thermopolis, now officially engaged to "world's greatest lover" Michael Moscovitz (it's canon, trust us). Despite nearly a decade of royal dating, the couple can't prepare for all the curveballs their Genovian nuptials have in store.

What A Girl Wants

Amanda Bynes in her heyday stars as Daphne Reynolds, an American girl growing up with a single mom. It's all very Princess Diariesbut based more on 1950s play The Reluctant Debutante; Daphne finds out her father (Colin Firth) is a Lord – now an Earl – and flies to London to spend time with him and his family. Once again the family disapproves of her non-royalness, but her father fights for her.

Hallmark and Lifetime both caught royal wedding fever after Prince William wed Kate Middleton in 2011. Both movies are...strictly average, but will lead you down a glorious rabbit hole of royal pomp and circumstance.

Princess Diana's semi-autobiography

Diana: Her True Story – in Her Own Words released in June was written along with the tragically deceased princess and contains her own personal materials. 2017 marked the 20-year anniversary of Diana's death due to injuries from a car accident; Beside being a compelling read, it's the story of Harry's mother and contains many similarities to his own story with Markle.

Bonus: Meghan Markle's Hallmark movie...just because

While Harry and Meghan's engagement prompted many online to ask for a Hallmark movie rendition, some will recall that Markle was actually ina Hallmark movie. Dater's Handbook released in 2016 and starred Markle as a hapless singleton trying to find a relationship. Spoiler alert: She didn't need a handbook in real life.
